All codes above refer to the same curve family — just named differently by each manufacturer.
The P28 is the most aggressive toe curve in mainstream hockey. The contact point is high on the toe, the face is wide open, and the curve is deep — this combination creates an extremely fast release from the toe of the blade and exceptional lift on wrist shots. It punishes the top corners. The trade-off is a more difficult backhand and less forgiving puck reception. This curve rewards technical skaters with refined shooting mechanics.
Snipers and danglers who shoot predominantly off the toe. Best for forwards who are already technically proficient and want maximum release speed and elevation. The open face makes bank passes and toe-drag shots natural but requires adjustment for backhand play.
